History of The Family Services
Since its inception in 1974 Mississauga Community and Family services has been a source of help and support for the community. In 1974 over 200 families made requests at the Temple office, that year Community and Family Services gave furniture to 141 families, food vouchers and parcels to 129 families, counselling of various types to 65 families or individuals. The strength of Mississauga Temple’s Family Services department was already well established. Forty years on, that strength and desire to assist the local community remains strong.
